"Experience is the best teacher." an old yet never dying quotation.

 

      A mixed feeling of nervous and happy and fear of wearing a professional uniform was the feeling I had a day before the deployment of us, the practice teachers, to our respective schools.

 

     Before the Sun was fully raised, we were already there. Few students yet but I began to ask what kind of experience awaits us And that day the principal was not around so we were entertained by the head teacher of the school. That day ended so good.  how I wish that the whole stay would  have gone like that.

 

     Perhaps one of the good things I had encountered was that I had a cooperating teacher who is very critique in many aspects when it comes to language whose expertise was AB  Mass Communication. A critique in everythig- my lesson plan, the way I pronounce the words, etc. Well, I must admit it helped me a lot to enhance my knowledge and become an effective communicator and improve my lesson plans. Hence in some aspects, like in the activities she thought I should have done in a lesson. There are even plenty of activities and strategies she suggests that it comes to the point that I don't know if it will still be helpful. I also had the difficulty of having two cooperating teachers who are both in grade 7 but with different lessons and different ideas. Another thing was that I was always being compared to the last practice teacher she handled from the other campus and that I started to feel like I'm being degraded. Or shall I say she's just a perfectionist.  On the other side the other CT always phrased me and appreciated the way I deliver and everything regarding my lesson

 

      But the good thing even i had these is that I was always assisted by the head teacher regarding my problem together with the English department chairperson. That, they were amazed when they did observations.

 

    In all whether or not she's a perfectionist, I guess I should say it helped me still to grow and develop my skills.

 

    In addition, I was also given the chance to help these students who undergo the school's enhancement whereas it reviews the identified begginers from each class to who have the deficiency in such subjects. The schedule and the students depend on the subject set for the day. As ours, the schedule for English enhancement was set tuesday and the students who will take the supplementary time for English alone were already identified. And we, the English practice teachers served as one of the facilitators.
